Most countries have a traditional style of wrestling. In India wreatling takes place in a clay or dirt pit. The soil is mixed with ghee and other things and is tended to before each practice. The daily life oh the wrestlers is very restricted. There are many strict rules on , what they can eat or do.Drinking, smoking are prohibited. They are called 'Pehalwan'in Hindi. The day starts at 4am. In lunch time they cook their own meal. 4pm they again start practice. The wrestlers travel all over India for competitions. First a wrestler digs the pit before the start of practice, then wrestlers warm up, another wrestler sanctifies the pit before the wrestling training begins. The soil is prepared with buttermilk, turmeric powder, red color and make it soft and antiseptic.
