Anapji Pond is located in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. It was constructed for King Munmu of the Silla dynasty in 674 AD. It is an artificial lake complex with 3 small wooded islands and several pavilions and buildings within the walls.
I visited South Korea in April of 2014, with a friend I met through online gaming, who I had never met in person before. Neither of us knew what to expect, and to this day the strangest experience I've ever had, yet it turned out to be an extremely valuable one.
Anapji Pond is currently open to the public for a small fee, and it is definitely preferable to visit at the night when the whole site is lit up and reflected back at you in the still water of the pond.
